Trashed a Garmin transducer running over some debris here in TN. It was connected to a Echo 100 And I know that a 5” will fit over it. Just wondering if anyone has gone bigger yet, using a Ram mount or similar. I’m open to either Garmin or Simrad and know it’s going to be a pain to deal with the wave shield and sticking with the starboard to port factory install with a extension cable. Hopefully one of you experts has already been there and can give me some options. Thanks!

You might have pretty good luck using the search function. I’m reasonably sure that this topic has been previously discussed. You might also search radio upgrades for information on how folks ran the wiring. Good luck!

Just bought a 2000 fish and cruise, and need better electronics. Looks like you mounted this through cupholder. Can you explain how you did it?

Nothing through the cupholder (that is bottom right in the picture). Mounting location is the flat area on the dash that presumably is for cellphones, etc. Mount has through-bolts that are affixed into a structural member in the helm, a 1x1 piece of wood that is glassed in place from the factory. Then tapped a hole into the helm for the associated wiring (power, xducer and NMEA 2000 engine data) and used a clamshell cover.
