Dock and Channel lights

I have a 2024 SXS22 that did not come with stock docking lights. The lake I am on has a channel connecting 2 lakes and requires knowing the location of the channel markers. In addition, I would like some lights for docking. I have found some decent lights from Harbor Freight and one is a flood and the other is a spot, both 1050 lumens. I am contemplating putting one of each to give me the both of best worlds. Does anyone have experience with this?

I added these at a 1,000 lumens, wish I can gone brighter but they help a LOT. We boat well into the evening a lot, and our dock has turns, narrow runways, rocks and cables - so the dock lights come in handy. Wired direct to the existing dock lights made wiring easy. 3 seasons in, no issues.

The ones I'm looking at are significantly less money but the specs are the same. Do you think if I do one of each type it will help?

Ask ChatGPT. It’s pretty amazing what it comes up with.

I added an under deck LED light bar to both my former and current boats. I documented both installations here Oct 2023 Update: Added LED Bar Light for Docking The one on my former boat was 4320 lumens which was a bit of overkill. I went with a 2160 lumen model on the current boat and the light is very acceptable. If I did it a third time, I would choose around 3000 lumens if available. I think 1050 lumens will be disappointing.

Whatever you do, make sure the lights you choose are rated IP67 or IP68. (Google IP ratings.)

Thank you for the feedback. I saw your post on this. Due to my boat being tri-toon and wanting my lights to be below the deck I will be using 2 lights. I have found a better option that are 2000 lumens each for a total of 4000. The other thing I like about them are that they area spot / flood combo giving some longer distance to look for channel markers and flood for docking.
