Has anyone added volt gauges for a dual battery setup? Wondering, best spot to install, what gauge is best & wireing?

My Simrad tells me the volts, although I have to turn the main switch to 1 or 2 to get each separately.

My Mercury digital gauges tell me the voltage. Like Laurence, I have to turn switch to 1 or 2 to isolate which battery it is reading. I also bought this device last year. It’s awesome. It is on sale a fair amount of the time, and that’s the time to buy it. It’s over 30% right now. Can be used on all your batteries to read overall health, and details. It’s great!

I had a Victron BMV-602 that I installed. Might be a little more involved than most people are looking for,but for my application and 4 batteries, it worked amazing.

I'm very familiar with smart shunt and victron equipment. My other boat, I had 9 telecom AGM batteries, and currently have well over 10,000 rms watt stereo I personally built and keep rebuilding bigger and bigger every year. Just made the jump to lifepO4 myself. But that victron doesn't do multiple banks unless you are running a single bank. Outboards charge at what ... 30 amps? Are you charging at the dock or?

Well yes and no, that monitor will show voltage from 2 battery banks, but all the additional ttg, current draw etc is only on one bank. I only needed to know that info for the stereo bank, not the starting battery.

Yes it was shore charged with a Pronautic ProMariner 1250p charger that I had set up a custom charge/float cycle as per the battery manufacturers specs (Northstar TPPL). My boat was in my driveway every night so no problem with keeping it charged up.

Sounds like quite a system you had. When i was building mine, theres nothing scarier than cutting a couple big 10" holes in the sides of your brand new loungers of a brand new boat that i hadn't even put in the water yet!! Haha Be a crazy amount of weight savings switching over. Still can't get over the price of some of those LifepO4 batteries, cousin has a couple for his truck. Problem up here is the winter temps for vehicle usage.
