Electric Bemini Top

So get this...the dealer sent a tech out to see why my electric Bimini would not elevate....it wasn't the actuator. it was the Switch (The push Up/Down) electric lines were somewhat corroded. He cleaned them and up it went...He is ordering me a new switch plate though since the letters are fading off. Thank goodness he knew what he was doing and checked electrical first.
We had the same problem with our 2015 G series, and we would support it while going up and down - and then on a ride earlier this month, the entire bimini collapsed into the face of one of our guests. This design is horrible - no supports front or rear, just the attachment and motor near the V. Ours is headed into the dealer. The dealer told me "that's what the straps are for that go to the rail are for" BUT THERE ARE NO STRAPS. It's a really bad design. Do not use the bimini without strapping it - if the gears are stripped, as they surely are, it will collapse without notice.
The posters issue you quoted was a bad switch . Not a " bad design "
