Embedding pics in message

So it seems that I'm a moron, does it have any helpful tips on this message board as in how to attach the thumbnail pics right in the message? If not, and I tried searching, could someone make a helpful hints topic and explain how to do this? Thanks!

As I understand, you have to place the pictures into the gallery. Then, you have the ability to use them in the forum. If I am wrong, someone please correct.
