I am looking at a bennington 20 sxs sps fish with a Honda 140hp engine. I would like the extra HP of this engine over the Yamaha 115 vmax sho. However the weight of this engine is about 100# more than the Yamaha 115hp vmax sho engine . Does this create a problem with the balance and if so are there ways to compensate for the extra weight?

My dealer does not support Suzuki engines.

Thanks for any thoughts you can share.

On that model ,140 HP is listed as the max HP . If there was an issue, it would not be offered in that configuration .
Also you will never be able to buy HP for less than at your initial time of purchase .
No one has ever said I wish I had less HP .

You will never know the difference in weight.

Short boat with either heavy motor will sit bow up with stern down. Water line in back will be below center of three tubes. Forward furniture on fishing layout will probably help. Boat will bob up and down with wave action. My boat does this. I tried moving batteries forward but it did not get perceivable improvement.

I believe BigD is correct. You’ll probably never see much difference between those 2 engines. My 2275 Bennington had a 115 H.O. Etec and topped out at 28 mph. It pulled tubes and skiers as well with no problems. This year I repowered to a Mercury 150 and only get an extra 2 to 3 mph. Either way you go, enjoy it.⚓
