First time poster and I am a first time pontoon buyer looking at a 21sl tritoon. I'm just wanting to get others opinions about this boat. I will be using this for tubing, maybe some skiing, some fishing and just general cruising on the water. The most that would ever be on the boat at one time would be 7-8 people.

  • 21sl
  • Sps package - tritoon
  • 150hp Yamaha
  • Upgraded helm chair
  • Ski tow bar
  • Privacy enclosure
  • Garmin echo 53dv
  • 2 portable cupholders
  • Vinyl flooring

The one I'm looking at is about 22% off the boat builders msrp price. Also would I be better to go to a higher model but get fewer options like not getting the tritoon? From everything I've read the tritoon sounds like it makes the boat more maneuverable.

I think you've got it under control with a very logical and balanced set of options.  Pay extra if you have to for an stainless prop.  They used to put SS props on 150s and above but now it seems it's "ABOVE 150" gets the stainless without asking.  It's an expensive option but worth it.  I've heard it can add 2 to 3 mph to your top speed.

Where are you at?  Or if you're in the south, wur yat?

What size stainless steel prop is best on the 150? I'm in Tennessee.

Congrats on the new purchase. I believe with the Yamaha they use the Reliance 15p prop.

Unless you memorized every lake you plan to go on skip the GPS and get something worthwhile, like a 741 that has big screen GPS in it.

Raised helm?

remote stereo head unit?

That is a great configuration. Very similar to ours. You will love it.

I'm assuming that the model you're looking at is off the dealer floor. Never had a pontoon to compare it to, but I can say that the tri-toon will definitely allow you to more fully enjoy the water sports you mention. Sounds like you found a winner that fits your needs. Enjoy!

It is one they have at the dealer. Thanks for the input. I thought the tritoon would be best fit for what I want to do with the boat.

Looks like a great build that will allow you to do what you want on the water. Plusher seats and lighted cup holders won't help pull up a skier and throw a tube outside the wake.

Congrats on the new boat!  Sounds like it is what you're looking for!

Congrats. Now for the pics! :D
