Garmin 300C replacement?

I have a 2015 QCW Sport Tower that came with a Garmin 300C on it. It has been a reliable depth Finder ETC. But I am thinking about upgrading it to some kind of Sim rad apparatus. Has anybody done this? Where my Garmin sits is a pretty small pocket to put a decent sim rad in. Has anybody come up with a good mount or a good way to upgrade here? What are any decent recommendations for an upgrade? I don't need it for fishing, I mainly need it for depth, and it wouldn't hurt to have a chart plotter. I am also not against sticking with a Garmin especially if I could use the same transducer or something....

I replaced my Garmin depth finder with a 5 inch Simrad Go5. I had to widen the hole but it was worth it. It looks factory installed. The Go5 is no longer available but Simrad has another unit to replace it called Cruise 5.

Yes I like that, but my Garmin is in a cubby directly above where yours is nestled in on the right side of the gages it's in a Cove that probably couldn't fit this simrad unless it was mounted on a single extended knuckle. That's probably what I'm looking at if it's available I assume it needs a whole new transducer in anything when you go to any of these newer units....

You will need a new transducer but it does comes as a package from Simrad. They even have bracket mount for the units as well. Overall you’ll probably spend around 500.00 when all said and done. My unit works well and has the gps as well. It was worth the investment I made and believe it will be for you. Please keep us posted.⚓⚓

My dash isn't quite like that. Has a recessed cubby on either side of the three main gages. Garmin sits inside the right cubby. But the type of Mount you show there is the type I would need for a unit like you have. Is that a mount that comes standard with that unit? If it is what unit exactly is that that you do have. Thanks!

The mount did come with the unit at that time & I believe it still does. Mine is the Simrad GO5.
