I recently had an issue with my gas gauge staying on 1/2 full. After some searching on this site, I saw a thread that suggested checking the float in the tank. So I simply accessed the top on my tank and pounded on the top of the tank were the float is located. The gauge worked immediately and I have not had an issue for a month now. Just a suggestion to try out.
