Gas levels

Last week I let the gas tank get lower than I had said I would. Being a new boat I figured I better learn it before I push it. Garmin was reading 25% while in the water. It took 54.8 gallons in what I thought was a 55 gallon tank. Anyone with the same size tank have experiences with that tank. I am now no longer resetting the trip meter and will go by gallons used

Some of it depends how you dealer set up your gages / Garmin / Simrad . Mine was set up that if it reads empty I still have 4-5 gallons left . My dealer does this with all the boats they sell .
My Vessel View reads exact ,so if I were to get close Ill rely on my VV .
The dealer told me If I want it to read exact ,Id have to bring it in with an empty tank to recalibrate it .
