Unfortunately, some of us are unable to walk out the back door to verify various elements of our Bennington boats. As such, a typical post for me might go something like this: "I'll let you know this weekend" or "I'll check that out next spring".

So this has gotten me thinking about some pictures I'm going to take in a few weeks once I am again reunited with my boat:
  • Hull ID #
  • Engine S/N
  • Lower unit specifications
  • Prop measurements
  • Motor mounting
  • Battery (type & connections)
This should enable me to better respond to various forum questions with the added bonus of having quick access to such information in case of a warranty or insurance matter.

So, did I leave out any other pictures that might be of use? I know for some of you this would be a waste of time but heck, I can't remember if I had breakfast.

Since I'm 2.5 hours away from my pontoon during the week, I had some of the same thoughts, and took at least one of the photos this weekend before putting the boat on the water! Great minds...

I’d say sonar transducer mounting location, anything you added yourself, like grill mounting, flag mounting, and any other conveniences you may have added to your Benny.

A while ago, I started taking pictures of every model number / serial number plate on every appliance and piece of equipment I own and storing them in their own album on my iPhone. Have also included pictures of the label of the oil I use in various vehicles and oil filters too. Can't tell you how often I refer to it while away from home.

Brilliant ideas above. Putting them to use this summer!

I've found measurements to be helpful. How wide a gate is. How much space between seats. Railing height. Bimini height. Storage opening spacing. Helm door size. Etc.
