So the one end of this metal connector broke off inside the plastic plug. I can’t seem to get the broken piece out of the plug. Guessing the black wire that is broken is a ground since none of my gages work. 2011 Bennington sli.

Does it look possible to sidestep the connector and just use a wire nut?

I’am going to be honest I know zilch about this stuff so I have no idea. The odd part is the back side of the plastic connector does not attach to anything. I assume it would be for an added electronic.

I would try using needle nose pliers to pull it out. Otherwise Michiman has the right idea. Cut it off the black wire on the back side and connect with wire nut and electrical tape.
