Does anyone have a clever fix to benningtons standard placement for the horn under the bow on the starboard side?

Mine has went Ka-Put in this saltwater environment. Though it's covered under warranty - I'm trying to avoid creating the same problem with just replacing it.

So has anyone one of you salty sailors found a good spot that water won't kill the horn? Maybe it's better to upgrade to an air horn?

It sure would be nice, as someone has suggested to have a horn that is triggered from the center of the steering wheel.

Mine is in the helm

My horn was in the helm of my 2005, which made a lot more sense, but now I have a 2014 and it's standard spot is where it can be drowned by water.

Did you move your horn from under the deck to the helm or do you a a boat where it was originally placed under the helm?

If you move the horn, you'll have to cut a hole in the panel to get any sound.

Ours came in the helm from the factory and there's a hole with a slotted cover over it. I also bought air horns to replace it with.

Originally placed in helm

Here is a shot of our prior (2013) and where it is

I think BM should put these on all future models.image.jpg

I use a can of composed air and the plastic air horn that came with it. I keep it in the starboard helm cup holder.

Still full of air after two seasons. No leaks.
