Ive run hyd jackplates on many of my boats. Mostly due to low water but the benefits in top end speed and holeshot are plentiful. Always a question when it comes to these devices, is transom warranty. Some boat manufacturers will void a warranty when a jackplate is used. Does anyone know if Bennington will void any warranty if u run a jackplate on one of their boats?
I've never heard of that happening, but I don't speak for the factory.
BTW, many people have their transoms beefed when doing that. Not so much because the transom is weak, but because adding a bit more thickness and welding on some gussets is fairly easy to do while the boat is out of the water and peace of mind is priceless.
Eric-thanks for your note. On our 18 lund cebter console, jackplates were allowedasing. as long as u weren't at the max hp rating of the boat. My 25 wellcraft center comsole with twin engines, they were not a issue even with the max of 175hp each (350) hp. Hope bennington replies as i migbt be interested in adding one this spring.
