Hey folks, I just bought a new 2275 GCW and love it. I've already added blue lights around the sides and front just behind the bumper guards. I would really like to add some underwater lights. I know that an bracket will need to be added to the right toon. My question is, what are the best lights to add?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Please read this thread before you use your new lights

Geewest uses shadow casters (another purchase I have yet to install), Ive also seen some from coastalnightlights.com which looked really good in real life.

Before you let everyone scare you off on lights, talk to your local water patrol about their legality. My local CG and WP both were in agreement that as long as I was running them while anchored off the main lake or at my dock, I was fine. Hence, my avatar shows my boat tied up in my slip.

I would love to add shadow casters, great looking effect! My concern is having another bracket welded to the right log, not sure I want anyone touching that. Sure wish the bracket was in place from the factory :(

Great, thanks for the advise everyone. FYI-a game warden did pull up on me the other night while we were anchored and I had all the blue lights on. He did a complete safety check. At the end, he said 'lets talk about these lights'. Basically, he said that that I really should only have the red/green/white lights as pointed out by others on this site. However, he said that many boats come with these lights these days. He believes no one will give me a hard time so long as the boat is anchored or docked. He wished us a good night and was on his way. Very professional and courteous.

prince, still sounds like your blue lights got you a FREE safety check! Everyone with blue lights make sure you have a designated driver aboard just in case. Steve

Sounds as though your patrol is as understanding as ours are. The houseboats going down our lake have enough lights on them to be seen from space! Not to mention that every fishing boat has LEDs on the sides to attract bait fish. As these setups become more and more popular, I think Law Enforcement is turning a blind eye as long as you are anchored out of sight or docked.

We were anchored on the bay and our local fish and game officers gave us a check. They were more interested in the boat then issuing any tickets. They asked for the usual, but 80% of the conversation was your boat is the nicest pontoon we've seen. Then off they went.

Good Times

The cost of the options that Geewest offered up are out of my budget for now. I bought some cheaper ones on Ebay (I'm sure I will learn my lesson).

Ebay purchase

I'll post how this turns out.
