In-Hull Storage

We just took delivery of a new 24' SLX with in-floor storage (in the center pontoon).  It has a good-sized access opening at the rear of the storage, but the storage area itself appears to go pretty far forward.  I assume with normal boating operations, stored items will vibrate/move towards the front of the storage area.  Has anyone worked out a method to make sure stored items don't get too far out of reach in that storage compartment?

How about some kind of rubber mat or flooring to prevent items from moving around.......

I have the same concern. I wish Bennington would have put the access to the storage area in the middle of the unit or at least put an access up front. We put seldom used items up front and I have built a rack for ski's and boards out of PVC pipe. Always open the the door and leave it open after a day on the lake or it will become a swamp. Love the extra storage, but you need to manage its shortcomings.

Thanks BigKahuna - a rubber mat might work for simple puttering around.  I suspect it would inhibit much movement during the acceleration phase and pulling tubes or skiers.

Thanks for the tip CapKaz (on leaving the storage door open after use).  Maybe Bennington will get the hint about centralizing the opening.

I put aluminum angle from the front to the rear and then put rubber roof pads on the plastic base(ask an HVAC guy about the rubber mats) CapKaz is 100%  on keeping the door open, I even took the sea grass cover off to keep the slots open.
