This my first Bennington and I/O toon and when I trim up more than two lines from the lowest setting on the trim gauge the boat begins losing speed. Is this normal?

Welcome Wulf! It’s obviously possible that your trim gauge isn’t quite dialed in, but at a standstill, does it seem to register correctly? It just might be that two lines up is about all your going to get before it starts ventilating.
But don’t worry, there are a number of folks on this site that have much more working knowledge than I, and I’m sure they’ll chime in.
BTW, how about posting some pictures of your new Benny and giving us a rundown of the details
