Look What We Saw On The Lake Today

We've been seeing a lot of these beauties this summer, and got lucky with this guy being less than 500' from the boat.


These were taken with a Nikon D610 and a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens.  It was windy and choppy water, and the boat was constantly moving, and so was he, but I got lucky.  I threw away over 50 other images, but was especially fond of these three.

love it. We have a pair about 3/8 mile east of us on the lake.

Nice!  We have about 4 on our local lakes that nest on the islands.  Very cool to see

We've seen them on our lake many times this summer.


After a sighting of a mature eagle, I went home and told my wife. She asked, "What constitutes a mature eagle?"


I answered, "You invite it to a party and it doesn't doesn't drink too much and pass out in your back yard!"
