We live two houses from the boat launch and I saw this unfolding just as she turned out of the boat launch just as the police were arriving!!!!

At first I thought wow, that guy is taking off kind of hard with those police pulling up. I initially thought someone got injured etc. and that is why the police were coming.

Good news...his boat wasn't on the trailer.....bad news.....his truck and trailer are toast!

Just another day in the life. I have heard more stories about "domestic issues" than most, but that is the nature of my business. I should write a book. Wait a minute, I did.

Cheers, Steve

Damn it.....when I read the title of this post I thought it was about a new country song......

Ready for the irony???? This past week some homeowners on the lake have complained to the city about 4-5 boaters who race around, drive reckless, very very loud exhausts, drunk etc. Based on my experience of living on the lake and who is out there.....I am almost certain this is one of the guys they are referring to. Probably not the best timing to dispute those allegations when your drunk girl friend takes your truck from the boat launch and goes on a high speed chase. I turned on the scanner once I saw the chase start and it was a good one. I guess they used the PIT manuver on her!

Speaking of loud exhaust....is there a law about that?  We have a very quiet lake for the most part and I actually never mind hearing the noise of people enjoying the lake (actually I love that) but man oh man this summer there has been this young kid (high school) on one of those old, stand-up jet skis and he HAS to have an aftermarket pipe (exhaust) on that sucker because it is so damn loud.

Wow thanks for that....I will for sure be calling Jackson County Sheriff Marine Patrol the next time he's out on my lake with that thing.

I just downloaded an app for my iphone that measures decibles and you can take a photo while in the app as well for proof.

What's the name of the app?

Never mind....I just downloaded one (probably the same one) for my Android that does all of that as well....thanks again.

I just did a search under "Decibels". I did the analog one but will try a digital as well. Not sure how accurate they are though. Sitting at work in an office setting it shows about 47 decibels. Does that sound right?

Yeah I downloaded 2 different apps.....one says 38 while the other one says 43 here in my office.  Really the only sound is that of the A/C fans.

Going by that law (if you have the actual law number/name that would be great) I will guarantee that the jet ski noise I am referring to is far louder than 90db's.  And I'm not one who hates jet skis or anything because I have two of them myself.
