Hi all,

Was working to install a new stereo in my inlaws 205L pontoon. Got it hooked up but it wasn't getting power. Removed the dash and was tracing 12V power from the breaker from right to left with a multimeter. About half was across I found a red wire with a connector just zip tied to a connection to a breaker that didn't have 12V. The red wire did. I jumpered that wire to the breaker and it seemed to get some power to the radio. I did something bad as now I have no power when turning the key or at the engine lift. I don't think I ran the battery down as I am still getting 12v at those breakers on the right.

Testing the ignition is problematic as the wires are all sealed. Is there a hidden kill switch somewhere that I may have dislodged?

Thanks for any help,

E

The kill switch should be next to the ignition switch. Check the master power switch too .

Update: was able to get power by taking the same red wire that may have caused the problem and jumpering it to one of the gauges. Powered up and started.

Traced purple wires between gauges down to the deck.

Are there connections or fuses under the deck?

I currently do not have power to the radio and am trying to trouble shoot. Was this the fuse that supplies power to the radio? Do you have a picture of where the fuse is on the engine?

I don't have a picture. Take the cover off the engine and look for a couple of wires leading up to the plastic cowling on top of the engine.

If you only don't have power to the radio then that isn't the fuse for it. Check the 12V accessory switch and breaker if you have one.
