Ok,

I ordered everything I need for my Sat ready radio to get Sirius/XM.

Sony Sirius Satellite Radio Complete Installation Kit SNYSC1 & SCC1 Tuner

I also have Uplink Y adapters and splitters.  My install guy said I have everything he needs.  He connected everything, my wife called Sirius/XM and they are sending to the unit, but he cannot get my stereo to come up with anything to do with Satellite, he scrolled through mode, menu, etc.  Are we missing something simple?

The radio is the Sony CDX-M60UI Sat/HD ready.  This project has been a pain in my butt because I am still working overseas and my installer is now asking me questions.  I went online and looked at the Sony instructions, and it really does not say much.

We are stumped, any help would be great

Thanks

Where are you installing at? When on my covered lift I was unable to get reception.

When I had XM in our car it wouldn't work in the garage.

Good points guys, the boat is sitting in my driveway right now and lots of trees around it.  I am still just concerned that something should come up on the radio showing that I am on the Sirius or Sat channel, right?

Have you cycled through the "sources" and confirmed you're on the xm source? For one of my radios I had xm refresh the signal. Is the antenna seated properly ?

I will have him check this.  Thanks

I just use the sirius xm app on my cell phone and it plays over bluetooth. You get a free online streaming account if you have the higher up pkgs. As for your scenario, yes it should be the source button, as for what the heading is, wish I would have looked at the forum a bit ago! I just put the batteries in and was looking at the stereo. I was impressed, when playing BPM, the head unit displayed the song info, unfortunately the pod just says bluetooth.

So any time I've added a radio on to my xm, I had to have a radio ID, which I believe was found on Channel 1 or 0 or something, and it would display on the screen. How does it work with this setup? Is the ID number listed on the additional radio parts you bought?

Regardless of whether it is active, you should be able to get to the preview channel and get sound to come through.

Yes, the ID number is on the parts that I purchased, not on the head unit.  My installer texted me last night and he thinks he knows the problem, may have done something wrong with the Y uplink or something.  I had an extra remote installed by the dealer, and it looks like they connected it to where the Sat input is, so I needed to order a Sony Y unlink and/or splitter.  I have ordered so much stuff I forgot! :)   It would have been easier for me to just order a new Marine head unit with Sirius/XM ready, but then my remotes don't work with any of those units, I would have had to order the new remotes.  Always something!

Yes, I was surveying this yesterday as I've always been disappointed in the stock stereo system in my RCW. With the Sony remote installed on the helm spot and on the rear lounger, and the Sony head unit below, there don't seem to be a lot of options to replace it without some fiberglass surgery.

I don't use Sirius/XM anymore and now just use Pandora and/or Spotify via Bluetooth on mine.

I have some sort of XM adapter/splitter laying around from my old Malibu if you'd like yet another to try.

Tom, he is heading over to the house today to try and resolve it, he thinks he knows what it is.  thanks for the offer.

I agree, I was looking at upgrading but with a remote on the lounger and one on the helm, it just didn't seem worth all the trouble.  The one thing I could have done and it would have been cheaper is to treat the head unit as it was not sat ready and just ordered the Sirius/XM sat tuner/radio for 63 bucks and the vehicle kit for 35 bucks.  I would then just connect via cigarette lighter and tune too 88.1 in my area.  I was told you don't get the true good reception though?  Anyway, I hope he gets it, I am heading home tomorrow from overseas and have the rest of the summer off :)

You probably went the right way. The FM transmitter versions sound terrible in my experience.

Mine was a device that looks to the radio like a Y connection using a CD changer input for the XM adapter. It worked fine on the ski boat.
