Good afternoon everyone. I've been lurking around for the past couple of years since a friend of mine purchase a Bennington. I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. Well, you folks (and my dealer) finally sold us. We are the proud new owners of a 2250 GSR purchased from Clemons Boats in Bayview Ohio. We took a lot of what I read from these forums into consideration when we finally made the decision to buy a Benny and then put our own little spin on the final build.
Having grown up on Lake Erie, I was really reluctant to go with a Tri Toon of any kind...until we spent the day on one. When we first started considering a Benny, we had a 24' Sea Ray Sundancer that I just hated. Always trimming the boat, not comfortable for more than 4 people and was a gas hog. Jason Clemons at Clemons boats kept working on me trying to get me to change my mind. Then he sold one to a friend of mine and after spending the day out and about, I was sold. Took the boat out into Lake Erie in 3 footers and never got a drop of water on us. Captained the boat completely around Kelleys Island and back and we couldn't believe the comfort of the boat.
So this past winter, we finally decided to pull the trigger and we just signed all of the paperwork about an hour ago. A bit too chilly and windy to take her out today so we'll take her out on Sunday afternoon for her maiden voyage.
I just want to thank all of the folks who contribute regularly to this forum. I don't do forums well because I tend to come and go quite a bit. We sell real estate so when its' time to work, that's about all we do. But I surely have appreciated all of the information that everyone has shared and continues to share. I look foward to learning so much more from the great folks on this forum.
