I have not retrofitted a new power Bimini, but for what it is worth, my new pontoon came with a power Bimini and it seems to be more work and time.
We now have to lower the Bimini to take off its cover and now we have two vinyl straps to add and take off. Plus, it seems less stable.
Maybe it is just me and the learning curve.
