Protecting a new Bennington?

We purchased a new Bennington. What would be some things that you would do to protect it (waxes, polishes, separate covers, etc.)? Anything that you would recommend doing before it starts to get exposed to the elements (seats, exterior, etc.). It will be in fresh water. Thank you.

Definately treat the Bimini and Bimini covers with a waterproof / uv protectant - I like the Starbright over the 303, used a pesticide spray bottle to apply. You will need to remove the Bimini for application. I did have my boat Ceramic Coated - it does seem to hold the shine better, but I also wipe the Benny down after each weekend of use - I liked the Hot Sauce, but currently using a Ceramic/Vinegar mix made by my detailer. I think if you regularly wipe down and wax the boat - that would also work and probably less expensive. The Toon Treatments (Sharkhide) do work - I found wiping down algae growth was much easier, and it seemed to last 2 seasons (and I leave the Benny in the water all summer). However, difficult to find a service that will lift the Benny to re-coat the underside and toon interiors. Keep Covered is the probably the most important. I am in AZ, 90% of all Benny / TriToon owners leave the Bimini up and the Mooring Cover on to reduce the searing heat hitting the boat directly.

Welcome to the club! Like stated above, keep it covered, waxed and don’t wait to address any mishaps.

Btw, we’d love to hear more about her and perhaps see some pictures.

Not sure what motor you have, but I always kept my motor under a separate cover from Tuff skinz marine and used meguiar's marine spray on wax to keep it clean. This was after 11 years of ownership.

Congrats on the new boat!

Good advice. I echo keeping it covered. I do and my neighbors don’t and there’s a big difference at the end of the season.
