Right prop?

Newbie here. I just picked up a 2005 1850LX with a Yamaha F60. I've been reading a lot about how to get the most out of this motor. I went through the Yamaha prop selector and it suggested either a 12x11 or 12x9. I checked what's on the boat and it's a 14x11. Is that right? What am I gaining or losing with this prop vs the Yamaha recommendation? We usually just putt along, and occasionally want to pull a tube. We never fill the boat to its capacity. The tach doesn't work so I can't say what RPM we cruise/top out at, but that is something I know I need to figure out. Top speed has been ~18mph.

Suggestions please.

Your speed sounds about right for your setup.

Honestly, without knowing RPM’s, you really are not going to be able to dial in a prop. Not sure how much there is to dial in with a 60hp on a dual pontoon. However, without knowing RPM’s at WOT, you really don’t know how its operating now. Does it have an RPM gauge that simply isn’t working, or does it not have an RPM garage at all?
