Rough water package includes- Solid M Brackets for strength and reinforced splash guards on the bow of pontoons. well worth the cost of $213

It is really nice having a dealer that really knows Benningtons on the forum.

I agree 150%! These inputs are very welcome and he has direct access to the source if necessary.

You can see both when looking at my signature photos

Well worth it.  If you ever have your boat on a large inland lake under windy conditions (thus, large waves) you'll be estatic you have that package.  Mine handles like a dream under those conditions.

Bob is a dealer and is sharing information. I don't think he wants to be quoted on the record so this is his way of helping forum members. I think the line through is a disclosure of sorts.

My opinion he accidently clicked the S or one of the other buttons in the upper left corner.

Just an FYI that as far as the bow splash guard portion of the rough water upgrade, I think they recently changed. We must have gotten one of the early upgraded versions because this was the first time my dealer had seen them. If you look closely at the picture of our boat in my gallery, it is now a thicker piece of aluminum with stiffening grooves that is welded along the entire seam where it connects to the tubes (same both sides, inner and outer). To my understanding, this replaces the earlier splash shield that had the gusset strengthener underneath as shown in lakeliving's photo (added to the former, thinner splash guard for the rough water package).

In comparison to some other new boats my dealer had in inventory, received pretty recently, the new rough water package splash guard material is much heavier and by the looks of it, without the gusset, may better redirect the splash back down towards the water. However, boat is new to us so I can't compare in that regards. Just an observation as to a potential improvement and a change if you see this package on a newly built boat...

I knew someone was going to say that :) You had to look real close at the pic of the entire boat to see the gussets were missing.

Figuring you would want the detail, I ran out and snapped a couple new photos.

I see! looks like they ditched the protective edge too. Hopefully they are not sharp. You know you were already out there drooling so don't say I made you go out there!!!

LOL!

I didn't notice them being sharp at all but obviously, something we will need to watch for when around the front of the boat. Something that was likely better on the old style with the round stiffener edge.

Hmmm, mine are boxed in as I recall.

GNC, so are you saying that is the new "Rough Water Package"? or just the new splash guards?

We have the rough water package and was a single boat delivery for our dealer so I can't say if Bennington went this way across the board on all boats. Hopefully someone else with a very recent build of a non-rough water package boat can confirm what they received.

If not, I'll try to check on the next boat(s) our dealer receives.

mine has the new splash guards too. I like them. The 'M' brackets in back on each toon are boxed in as stated before. The package is well worth it especially when someone uses your splash guard as a step.

I guess they changed them then!
