I have read that a new option for increased speed is to have sealed stakes. I am assuming that it means full length welding when they are attached. Has anybody tried epoxy or other material to fill and seal the unwelded sections of the strake? If so please post your results.

Hi Remediation, our definition of "sealed strakes" means the stern end of the strake (which is normally open-ended) is sealed. This has nothing to do with performance; it is an option for saltwater markets. Just an FYI! TB :)

I always wondered why my salesman ordered my boat with sealed strakes since I live in Michigan... Maybe he knows something like I'm gonna win the lotto and move south??????

Has there been any testing to see if there would be a performance increase if the strake was sealed? Better waterflow, less drag?
