Tilt gauge issues.

I have a 2015 tri toon and my tilt gauge is not working properly. So i adjusted my tilt at the motor but it still stops at the 3/4 way on the gauge. I am wondering id ira the gauge or the sender the problem

It is a 150 yamaha that i have

The trim sender could be the problem, I've read these can get stuck, break, foul with debris or too much grease etc.

Try and locate it on your tilt tube and see if it can freely move. Here's a picture of an older Yamaha F150 but I imagine the technology has not changed much.
