Transducer mounting

Has anyone found a way to mount the transducer to the right side toon but doesn’t have a mounting box that was put on from factory. Maybe a mount that attaches to the toon. Maybe high speed tape? Maybe a mount that has a slight curve to match the toons curve and used high speed tape. If anyone has a garmin transducer mounted that works great even at speeds please send a few pictures showing where and how it’s mounted. I’d prefer not to have someone build and weld a mount. If there’s no other way? Then how about a picture with one mounted on left side where Bennington put a bracket. I don’t want to drill a bunch of holes in the plate trying to find the best spot.
I know this is a topic that’s talked about but looking through 6-8 posts I don’t see an answer.
Thanks.

Found this on another site, JB Welded block of polycarb to the toon.

It would probably be fine if the transducer is small enough and only getting hit with water, but I've dragged my 'ducer on the bottom when backing the boat onto shore to do some motor maintenance. Might not hold up in the most extreme conditions but hey, that's where the wire comes in - doubles as a retrieval lanyard!

Just getting some clarity on why you want to mount on the starboard side pontoon. Are you talking port side or starboard side when you say ”right side toon“? Not sure if you description is when viewing boat from front or back.

Someone told me some time ago the reason for the brackets being on the rear port side pontoon is there can be more water disturbance on the starboard side causing signal interference. Also heard increased chance of someone damaging the transducer using the ladder if mounted on the starboard side. Not sure on accuracy, but both explanations made sense when explained to me in this way.

Anyway, this is my understanding of why the transducer brackets & transducers are on the port side pontoon.

Do you have a bracket on the port side pontoon already? No brackets at all? Is there a reason to not mount your transducer on the port side?

I mounted an additional bracket this past summer on the starboard toon. I got a bracket from my dealer for $19 and paid a local welder to install. It took more time to get the boat and trailer backed into their shop than to do the welding, I think I paid somewhere around $50 for the welding. I have two transducers so I wanted them spread out, thus the second bracket.

Thanks for getting back. Could you send a picture ?

Hi ! Curious. Why?

It would be away from any electrical wire interference. Cable would be able to reach with out buying a 10’ extension. Don’t want to mount it next to the stiker I already have.

I have a stiker already mounted on port side. Having it on starboard would keep wireless away from any other wires that might cause interference. Would not need the extra 10’ extension which may cause interference. I read it’s better to have on starboard side of motor. Then again maybe port side is best but I don’t want two on same side

Hey. Could you send a few pictures to show me how it turned out. I’ve been thinking about Doing the same but a little weary of having someone welding to the toons.
Thanks

I was feeling the same way but the welder had done this previously. Some boat dealers will sub this work out to these other shops. It looks completely stock from the factory and I will get a few pics and post them.

I would have dealer do it. Yes he will have an subcontractor do it, maybe even same guy you would have chose and it will be more expensive. The reason to use dealer, is they will make it right If it’s not done well, they have the reputation and power to correct any issue.

Agree with you Timdelta and started there. The dealer was so busy they recommended a few shops to do the welding and shipped me the part.

One pic is of the (stock) port side mount and the others are of the starboard added bracket
