So my 2017 Bennington 2250 GPD was ordered with the Roswell Audi upgrade, as Wetsounds/Kicker combo is no longer available. I still have the Kicker KMC10 deck, but have Roswell RGB lighted speakers, Roswell 10" Subwoofer and Roswell Amplifier.
What I noticed off the bat was that Bass was almost non existent at lower volumes, and even at moderate volumes and had a plethora of rattles. I decided to handle these issues myself...
-My Audio shop tuned the factory amplfier
-Added sound dampening material in key places under the helm. We had to remove the panel above the gauges for padding. The fish finder also fell apart. The Epoxy holding the "screws" on failed. We fixed that but added some padding being the fish finder as well as it was a rattle source. Also had to insulate the wind shield from the helm itself.
- I removed a little storage deal that was directly below the steering wheel, and put a vent there instead so that the air had a place to escape. A larger vent would be preferable, but I don't want to hack the boat up.
- Added a bass control knob. Now, I can add bass at lower volumes, and take it away as I see fit at higher volumes.
Now I'm rattle free. Highs sounder clearer, and bass is deeper. With these tweaks, I feel that the factory Roswell system is adequate and I feel not need to upgrade any of the components themselves.
