Yamaha Outboard Onboard Flush Attachment

Can I use the flush hose attachment on my Yamaha outboard to run the engine for a short period of time to warm up the oil for winterization or do I need to use the muffs? Thanks in-advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Gotta use the muffs. Do NOT run the motor when hooked to the flush attachment.

That hose mount is only for flushing the motor when off. Only muffs are to be used when the motor is on.

Never run engine out of water without the muffs, it will ruin water pump impeller.
