We have owned about every type boat over the years--from 12 ft jon boats to 25 ft cuddy cabins--but never a pontoon boat. With the economy like it is now in the log home industry (I own a cypress log home company), we have plenty of time to spend on the lakes enjoying semi-retirement. I am also retired military, US Army military police and intelligence, and my wife retired from the State of Florida a couple years ago where she was the Chief of Personnel for the Dept of Corrections. That dept had 28,000 employees, so she was quite busy.

Our usual lake of choice is Fontana Lake, a reservoir that holds the title of being the deepest lake east of the Mississippi, and is 485 ft deep at full pool. We have a lot of reservoirs within two hours travel of our home, and plan on spending time on all of them in the years to come. We fish and camp a lot, and plan on using our enclosure on the pontoon for a floating camper. We are active in our church and also as a volunteer in our neighboring Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
