I have the SPS with a F150 and have pulled my son and grandkids behind my 2550 GSR quite a bit this summer. It stays flat in the turns, and turns without a great deal of effort. After 5-6 hours of pulling I wouldn't call it effortless though...if I did it a lot I might consider power steering...
Mine came with the instructions wrapped around it, and packaged in a Yamaha box, but I remember reading about it in the post noted above when I was researching it. Whatever I'm buying, whether for a boat or anything else, I always like to see original packaging just for that very reason.
I overfilled mine the first time, so full that gas entered the vent hose . I found that the vent hose had a slight dip in it which filled with gas when I overfilled to the top of the neck. I was cruising along for 20-25 minutes when all of a sudden the motor died. I can see the tank under my...
I remember someone else on the forum last year had the same thing happen, apparently water being forced in somewhere in hard turns. I think most get water in there from rain though, I know mine came in that way. That said, when you look at the way water splashes off the two outer pontoons...
JSM -- yours sounds like it is not moving freely, maybe binding. Carl said his is in a tube, not an arm, so it may not be lined up in the tube. I really haven't checked one of those out, so I'm just guessing. But, since it does work after a bit, it makes sense that there may well be an...
Strange that manufacturers do that. I have had storms come up during the night, with lots of lightening, and I'm not going to run out and turn switches on to keep my boat from sinking. I would rewire it straight to a constant hot.
What happens if you reverse the wires? Seems like I remember I did that years ago and a full tank reading was the result. If that is not it, then maybe the hot wire is shorted to ground either at the sender or between the sender and the gauge. Did you check the gauge operation by manually...
On mine I can see the tank under the rear lounger, and easily ascertain the fuel level. I use that method as much or more than I use the gauge. If it didn't work at all I wouldn't lose time during the short boating season to repair it. I really do not trust gauges and sending units that are ...
The windshield is either Lexan or a similar polycarbonate and it is very durable and resistant to most common household chemicals and cleaners. Glass cleaners are OK, as are mild detergents for oily or greasy stains. It does scratch easily though, and darn near impossible to remove once...
If you are using a plastic bunk covering or the HDPE sections, then you can use PT lumber for your bunks. If you're covering with carpet the preservative will leach from the lumber to the carpet...and then to the aluminum pontoons. It is very corrosive compared to the now banned CCA...
I'm resurrecting this to ask if anyone has used a flag pole and mount from www.originalswiveler.com ? I want to mount a pair of flags, a US flag and a Retired US Army flag. I have the permanent SS ski tow bar which is 1.5 inches in diameter, and that severely limits the possibilities. They have...
Steve,
I would be upset at this point too. As stated above, SeaStar hydraulic pumps and parts are readily available in a day or so. They are used in many boats, and have been for years. Call Tuesday and advise Bennington of the problem, hopefully they will contact your dealer and get them...
