    Yamaha Throttle Lever

DD952, I have a 2000 Yamaha OX66 150HP with a control that incorporates a pull up under the horizontal part of the control handle. Now, on my 2021 F115LB there is no such lock out, only a detent for neutral. I gotta say I like the lock feature on the 2000 control over the detent on the 2021...

    Pontoon Guard's

To all, We just "wrapped up" out third year with our Bennington. If you look up in this thread, you'll see my comments on installing. After three years of use the Megaware product looks like the day I installed it. As mentioned above, a good set of fenders will certainly extend the life of...

    Floating Matt Storage Option

Am I missing something, or is the pontoon in the first photo underway with the outboard motor cover in place?

    Boat Shows Cancelling

Potomacbassin', All good points. FWIW I remember a number of years ago, when the first 4 stroke outboards came out. Many in the industry declared we'd never see a 4 stroke larger than 90HP, due to the required robustness of the block. Now we have a 600HP 4 stroke from Merc, and numerous 4...

    Boat Shows Cancelling

Minneapolis boat show was last week. We got VIP tickets for Wednesday evening preview, from Bennington. The show mostly consisted of pontoons, pwc's, and fishing boats. The highest priced boat I saw was an aluminum fishing boat (twin 250HP Yamaha) from KingFisher. Show price was $383k. I...

    Pontoon Guard's

Guys, I'd like to clear some confusion as to the Megaware pontoon protection product. The 3M portion of the Megaware product is the tape on the back side. It's typically referred to as 3M VHB tape. It's a closed cell foam tape that has a tenacious grip/bond. It does a great job of bonding...

    Pontoon Guard's

jonesjj3, Do a search on "vantage pontoon protection" and you'll find my comments on installing and using the Megaware product. As I said in the post, I'm on my second season w/ the Megaware product, and it's holding fine. Time spent carefully measuring the install lay out is time well spent...

    Vantage pontoon protection

Cfcdad, I'm now on the second summer with the Megaware guard, and it looks like the day I installed it. As I mentioned, I went with the gray color, and you can't tell it's even on the tube from a few feet away. I found it a cost effective alternative to the Vantage product, and haven't...

Have You Looked at Non Ethanol Price Today ?

What a tales of two seasons, here in west central Minnesota. Last summer we took our outboard boat out of the lake the third week in July, due to very low lake levels. As luck would have it damaged the prop on trip to the landing. Had to crank the boat (17' Glastron, Yamaha 150HP OX66) onto...

Ultra Legs/Sea Legs - Remote control advice

Guys, A bit of preventative advice on the "Legs" remote control device. We got a new 22SVSR last spring, and enjoyed the heck out of it last summer. Due to late ice out this year, we didn't get it in the water until Memorial weekend. Last week I was at out cabin, doing some work. Out plan...

    Captains Seat Adjustment Lever

To add to seat levers breaking off. The "rod" that Springfield uses to lock the adusting lever to the adjusting bar is a hollow, split rod, that's inserted into one side of the handle, through the adjusting rod, and into the other side of the handle. Two weeks ago my daughter handed me the...

    Gasoline

FWIW I'm running 87 octane ethanol in both a 2000 Yamaha OX66 150HP and a 2022 Yamaha FB115. My servicing dealer says over 70% of his service work entails fuel-related issues. His contention is as long as you run Yamaha Ring Free+ and Starbrite Startron you should have no fuel issues. At end...

Tachometer needle bouncing around while operating.

Thomsons, Thanks for the follow up. If our lake ever ices out <g> we'll get our pontoon out of storage, and take a look at the Bennington tach setting. Thanks also for the photo, that certainly makes things clearer. Jeff

How much did you use it?

22SVSR, 115HP Yamaha F115LB, Ultra Legs, 32 engine hours this past summer. Tough summer for boating in west central Minnesota, due to very low lake levels. We had to take our runabout off the lake the third week in July, in order to be able to get it off the lift, and onto a bunk trailer.

    Yamaha ring free?

Bill, I use Ring Free+ and Starbrite Startron in both my boat (2000 Yamaha OX66 150HP) and pontoon (2021 Yamaha F115B). I also use these same additives for lawn mowers and lawn tractors. The only vehicles I don't use them in are road vehicles. For both water craft I use Starbrite's PRO Star...
