I was able to contact Garmin, great customer service, they sent out a replacement Striker 4 to fix the issue.

    Garmin Striker 4 losing waypoints

Has anyone had issues with their Garmin unit suddenly losing all its waypoints, tracks and screen settings? It has happened to me on 4 separate occasions over the last 3 months, no warning, lost over 200 waypoints and no backup. Like the device went through a hard wipe, but not at my command...

    Textured vs Smooth panels

Our Benny has both, we went with the ribbed (textured) in the main panel and smooth in the stripe panel. Both clean and shine equally well. I think it is just a matter of preference.

Best boating lake in your state.

WVFan4 - If you get back to the area, would love to give you a weekend tour of our Lake, our lake house is about 25 miles from Clemson University, Clemson and Seneca have lots of hotel space and some are located on the on lake., I don't think there are any that provide docking though. There are...

Best boating lake in your state.

The catch - The lake is managed by the US Army Corp of Engineers, this is good and bad, heavy shoreline restrictions. Water level fluctuates up to 6 feet. Sometimes a foot in a week. (Recreation is not the USACE's primary focus, even though it brings the most revenue to the local economies.)...

Best boating lake in your state.

South Carolina has several wonderful boating lakes, Lake Hartwell is my favorite, with over 900 miles of shoreline and 67,000 plus acres and a climate where the water never freezes. The lake is dotted with many sandy beach islands. We were out yesterday (January 13th) on our 25' Benny went to an...

    Under table storage

Has anyone added or seen pull out drawers that fit under the cockpit table? Just thinking this would be a great place to store cell phones, bottle opener, pocket knife, small tools etc. Seems like an easy project if you could find the right type of sliding drawer(s).

    Noise in pontoon

We have a 2021 LX24 and have heard the same "noise" you describe. Typically it is heard as we are raising the boat on the lift in our dock, I have determined it is water / air sloshing in the lifting strakes. Since they are not sealed water gets in the strakes and with a large port at the rear...

    Portable Air Conditioning 0 Cheap

Attached are a few photos of a portable AC system I built for less than $30. Using an old Igloo cooler, old used fan and buying some 3" PVC drain pipe I made this "AC Unit". Repurposing ice bags (water and cotton) kept from Omaha Steak shipments, add those and some loose ice, turn the fan on and...

    Water/Condensation obscuring gauge.

Common issue, back when the gauge bulbs were incandescent the heat of the lamps would remove the moisture, now the LED lights generate so little heat they are not helpful. I replaced my gauge under warranty, and the new one fogged up in a month. Sunlight does help, the dealer let me keep the...

    Enclosure for year round boating.

The enclosure is custom made to each boat. There are so many configurations and layouts of deck furniture no one could make a standard off the shelf that would work well. Our cover was made by Janice's Upholstery Shop located in Six Mile SC, which is near Seneca. They had the boat about 10 days...

    Enclosure for year round boating.

A nice feature on the one we have is the ability to open up the front area and allow air to flow through, so even in warmer temperatures it does not get to hot. The flow through design saves a lot of install / uninstall time. We have a boater comrade who also has an enclosure, so we have had a...
