    Placement of Transom-Mount Sensor

I feel your pain! Many of the lakes in Florida are extremely shallow. For instance Lake George is the third largest lake in FL, yet has an average depth of about 8 feet. The good think about Florida lakes is a total absence of rocks. Lots of submerged pilings and trees make keeping a weary eye...

Just received my first Benny - 2018 SSXP

Welcome, and congratulations on what looks like a great boat and build. You should be a happy boater!

    playpen cover versus seat covers

Full cover! Our boat is even in the water with only two sides accessible. Takes less than 10 minutes off and to stow, and less than 15 minutes to put on. Boat is in a covered slip, and still would not think of leaving it uncovered.

Welcome to the family. You will like it here, and I can pretty much guarantee that you'll love your Benni.

    My Poor Prop

I can't chime in on the cost of prop replacement, or repair. However, I can address the "top speed and top mount hole" discussion. I have the exact same prop you do on our 21 SLX with 150 Yamaha and SPS. When delivered, our boat's top speed was 44.1 mph as verified by our Garmin DV54. Also...

    I'm Back (Finally!)

Thanks. I went to look at the boat and river just this afternoon. It's still at 5.3 feet, which was the high since the 2008 record. Forecast is to S-L-O-W-L-Y drop down to 5 feet by Saturday. As for Silver Glen, it's a great place for sure unless you go when half the boats in Florida are there...

Oops, here is the pic I wanted to send of sealed strake and toons.

    Some remaining question

Hello lostpacket. We own the 2016 version of 21SLX and love it. As you can see from my signature below, we have most of the things you asked about. 1) The SPS and 150 is a must! Sealed strakes are on outside of center toon and are part of SPS. See picture attached. 2)When we bought, there was...

    I'm Back (Finally!)

Mark, I was thinking of you when mandatory evacuation of Merritt Island was announced. I figured you were safe and sound north of here. I hope you get everything put back together without too much trouble. We will have to plan to get together. The best Florida weather is just around the corner.

    How much???

Congrats to all of you! My wife and I will celebrate 48 years this December. While I've never "suffered" when it came to "toys", if it weren't for her saying "NO" to some of my skeams, we would not be where we are. She is the "balance" part of checks and balances, while my desire to write...

    I'm Back (Finally!)

So, here are two pics of the marina where our Benny is docked. It shows the flooding of the river. The fuel dock is under water, and the boat house is submerged so much that our boat (2nd one in, with Yammy motor cover) is close to the roof. River is forecast to start going down this weekend (so...

    I'm Back (Finally!)

[/IMG] The leak was behind the port side lifting strake on the center toon. I think that's why they decided to replace rather than fix. Without removing the lifting strake it was not evident if it was a crack, or bad weld.
