My concern is 

When full out 

The cover will slow boat and waste gas

Maybe I am missing something

But it seems like it is always up when you are on the boat

Hadn't considered that as we don't tow but a few miles in and out for the season or service, but it's a really good point!

Seems like you'd have to remove the canvas or disassemble it somehow or have a strap down towing cover that went over the top of that whoel contraption without damaging it.
