I have a new fish finder that I'm going to install.  I am looking for advice on how to run the cable to the helm.  I think I can tap into one of the unused rocker switches on the dash for the power.  The boat is a 22 SSLX.   Any advice would be very much appreciated.

You want to connect the power wire to the acc switch on the dash for radio etc. (should be on the right). The transducer cable will have to be fished to the helm. It's a little more dificult if you have underskinning.

I used a heavy duty retractable tape measure. I fed the tape below the deck and above the underskinning, taped the transducer cable to the tape and pulled it through.

You're better off controlling it through a rocker switch. It took me a while to figure out that the factory installation was wired through the key switch and any time the key was in the accessory position it was also spinning the hour meter. I have an extra 20 hours showing even though the engine was off.
