We have been battling this issue for months now and been through 3 mechanics who all think they fixed it then it happens again.

The boat runs fine. Then after running and stopping for a period of time the boat will not restart. Yesterday, it restarted 3 times on a ride, we thought we had it! Time 4 it was dead. We know it is a fuel or fuel electrical issue but nobody can seem to fix it. Replaced fuel pump twice so that is not it. Anyone else ever have this issue??

Does it turn over at all, or is it completely dead. When it acts up, do you prime using the fuel bulb?

It tries to turn over but just doesnt sound like it is getting fuel. We have tried priming with the fuel Bulb when this occurs and no luck. It is odd the bulb is already hard as a rock.

Next time take fuel cap off and see if it starts. maybe vent issue? Then check for spark at plug. My friend had a new Bayliner fishing boat with a defective "dead man" switch. It would just die with no warning. Drove him crazy til someone thought to replace it. Possible ignition coil failing with higher heat ? Had a brand new Toyota Tercel car in 1983 with this exact problem. It would die with no spark. By the time you arranged a tow it would start right up. Had under 1,000 miles on it. Ended up being a common problem with ignition coils. Just throwing wild a$$ guesses. Hope it helps. I assume you have newer boat with no points and condenser as they can drive you crazy!!!!
