Yes, you can use the eye on the toon. Do a search for "Danik hook" and get one to put your anchor line (rode) through. Then simply clip it on the eye, and you can pull the rope through while on deck to tighten it up. I've been doing mine this way for years. You'll want to get the stainless steel Danik hook, it's the strongest.
