I think 6" is average.
Anyway, you have the new arch correct? Is that the tow point or is it in the aft? I believe they just twist lock into place. If it is in a sun lounger they lift up and twist into place.

Sorry Mark, do you have 2 tow points then? I'm assuming you must, since I just remembered it was that fancy new windscreen model. I don't have an I/O, but I didn't think it raised up at all.

I have an I/O and you should have an extension pylon that pins to the base mount. If you have what I have there is a short stand with a center pin. That is the mount for the real pylon with stands another 2 feet higher. I have included a pic of the pylon mount.
