This is the latched position with the seat closed up against the latch (latch down against but not over the slide bolt lower stop). There was just enough gap between the backrest and the rotocast seat base for the slide bolt in between.The U-clip on the backrest must be positioned vertically with good coverage over the latch rod when in this position but also such that it allows the seat to open when the slide bolt is lifted up against (but not over) the upper stop on the bracket as shown in one of the other pics.
