Obviously it’s preferable to deal with the local dealer, but not always possible/prudent to do so. Everyone is in business to turn a profit, however there is a threshold over which it turns in to a question of whether it makes any financial sense. I’m not going to base my decision on who to...
I look at white interior on a boat the same way I view black vehicles. When new, arguably the best color. After the first washing of a black vehicle leaving swirl marks or the maiden boat voyage with white interior and the inevitable smudge/discoloration/stain (that often is a mystery how it...
There is a wealth of knowledge on this site and no shortage of folks willing to help. You picked the best Tritoon brand, so that’s a good start. It really is a challenge to determine what model/options would suit you best as a first boat. If you could give more insight into how you plan to...
Anyone with any experience solving this issue? The local Bennington dealer has an independent shop specializing in bimini tops/covers do all their bimini repair work and I recently spoke with one of the local Bimini top shops that does terrific work and was disappointed in their take on the...
OP, It sounds like you’ve made a decision based on careful consideration and research. You will ultimately be very happy with your purchase. It really does distill down to “what’s best for each individual” regarding the choices. Simply getting out there is 99% of the experience, whether it is...
I didn’t see any bushing, but it’s awkward viewing that area in the back of the storage unit. Not sure of exact thickness. In the interest of time, If You’re considering getting some flat stock and doing it yourself, I probably wouldn’t. Alignment has to be perfect and it is awkward to gain...
You never know, as the stainless props obviously transfer more stress to the lower unit as a result of underwater strike damage, but I would be surprised if you bent the prop shaft/had any lower unit damage. Get the prop repaired and you should be good!
You would be surprised what a good prop shop can do. In relative terms, yours actually doesn’t look that bad as far as being a candidate for repair. I wouldn’t keep running it like that though.
From the perspective of an owner who was wondering the same thing at the time of purchase, I have no regrets with the 300. In my situation, the way the boat was configured as far as options/color was more important than the engine, as long as it was not underpowered. A 300 on the Q is not...
Sorry that you’re experiencing this issue. The moment you realize what’s going on, your heart sinks. Keep it in perspective. I have no expertise in this area but I would think it will, in the right hands, be a relatively easy fix. I would prefer to skip the dealer in this scenario if you...
Unfortunately, in some ways, our boats are like RVs on the water. We obviously aren’t dealing with as many variables that can go wrong as with an RV, but there is still typically some ”sorting” that needs to be done after taking delivery. The absence of functioning power steering shows you the...
I typically don’t tow long distances, but have done a lot of recreational (motorsport) towing over the years with a variety of trailers/weights. Tow vehicles have typically been the highest hp gas offerings at the time (several GM half ton with 6.0 and 6.2 engines, a 8.1 gas, a 3/4 ton Ford 6.7...
Welcome and congratulations!
Our ‘19 came with a fire extinguisher, but no anchor.
With boating experience, you will find that you will get used to the differences between boat types relatively easily. The two things that stood out to me relative to previous boats (runabouts and cats) were 1...
