    In the Water

Very nice looking boat! I love the stern lounge layout.

    Dual Batteries?

I certainly do not think it's overkill to have 2 batteries. Especially if you're going to be anchored a lot using the radio, it's nice to have piece of mind to know that if one battery runs low that you always have a second battery to start the motor.

    docking aids

Someone else mentioned installing padding to the dock. It helps a lot. We have a very tight slip to get into, with only inches on either side. I installed these white padded bumpers to the wooden dock side and I bought extra large pool noodles for the metal divider side and split them in half...

Ethanol E15 and is your local gas station making the change?

We have ethanol-free 91 octane marine fuel on our lake and it was sitting at $5.40 a gallon a couple weeks ago. I've heard the prices have gone up since then to close to $6. I think we're just going to find the nearest cove and drop anchor this weekend.

Buyers remorse ( Two foot itis ! )

It's a disease called "two-foot itis". It happens with just about everyone who owns a boat. Every couple years we feel like we need 2 more feet in boat length.

    Mooring cover too tight

Even if you can't secure a few clips, I don't think it's a big deal. I would just try to space them apart.

    Be careful out there !!

You can still get in trouble even if you know how to swim. A couple years ago I dove in the river and didn't realize the current was so strong that day. When I popped up I was already 20 yards away from the boat and had to swim against that strong current to get back to the boat. I'm not as...

    Mooring cover clips

Dropping the poles first and unzipping the zipper are key to relieving some of the tension. My wife finds it easier for her to pull down on the corner of the clip from her standing inside the boat. I find it easier standing outside the boat and pulling down on the corner of the clip. I...

    Financing question

We did a 15-yr loan with US Bank last year, but plan on paying it off early. I forget what the rate was, but I recall it was 5% something.

    Transom saver

    Thanks. Should be there now.

    Transom saver

If you zoom in to this photo, you'll see 2 trim actuators. When you take the boat out of water you will use the switch on the left side of the motor to raise then lower the motor onto these two struts. Once the motor rests on these actuators, it'll be in the correct position for trailering.

    Slip cost.....

What lake are you on that it costs $453 a month? I have a slip on Norris lake that costs $210 a month, includes water and electric.

    THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

The way fuel prices are going that may be true (minimal use) for a lot of people, myself included. We just bought a camper on Norris Lake, TN and will have our boat on a slip at the marina, so we'll be spending a lot of weekends camping and boating. Luckily, we have a friend there with a...

    Motor hits ski tow bar

I have a 2021 23L with a Merc 200 and ski tow bar and it does not hit. It looks like your tow bar is different than mine but your cowl is definitely bigger than it is on the Merc.
