Adjust the shift cable, it can be done on dry land with two people, engine not running but making sure the propeller is being rotated to aid in shifting from forward to reverse. You tube is your friend.
Just remember, pay attention to max weight limit and not max people limit. My S21, is 10 people or 1337 #. When's the last time you saw 10 people with a combined weight of 1337#? Maybe a Yemen boat lift....
Sounds like some ventilation, you had it trimmed up a little too much for conditions. Prop just got some air into blade area and lost bite. Happens all the time if you have an itchy trim button finger, I know I do.
I threw a set of calipers on the bullet connecters for the Bennington wire connectors to our tops it is 0.175" (4.44 mm) diameter. So the part number is 16-14 .175 male bullet connector, now you'll have to shop for the amount of insulation you'll need. Now at least you have something to google...
