My 2006 Bennington 2575 GL was running fine and then suddenly the Rpm's went way up? slowed down and no problem . I run it at about 4,000 RPMS regularly . I did have it trimmed a little since the water was very choppy but I don't think the prop would have been out of the water. I ran it easily around 3,000 rpms get back to my slip and gently increased it back up to 4,000 without any further issues? Any ideas ? Fuel? any info would be helpful.

Could be lots of things but don’t give it too much thought. Do however watch to see if it continues sporadically. If all else is “OK”, you’re good to go. You possibly has an ECM hiccup or hit an air pocket (ventilation) in the water.

Sounds like some ventilation, you had it trimmed up a little too much for conditions. Prop just got some air into blade area and lost bite. Happens all the time if you have an itchy trim button finger, I know I do.
