Details: SubWoofer Considerations for a Pontoon install - a deep dive

Updated 9.6.25 - Terminology Correction: Passive Subwoofer (no built in amp) to Passive Radiator (passive speaker (2nd) in sealed enclosure). So I am sure this is far from perfect, but well over 6 plus hours of intensive research supported by AI, generated some interesting details I have not...

    Subwoofer placement

I am partway through a STEEP LEARNING CURVE HERE, not a pro – so offering a “brief” summary of my research: I have spent hours on the questions of placement and design. I cannot find a single source of actual, in-depth analysis on Pontoon SubWoofer Placement or Design (Forward, Down, Up facing +...

So tired of bent cover snaps . . . .

Between toon guiderails would be the answer then!?

New Accessory: Rockford Fosgate 10" Subwoofer & Amp with Custom Enclosure - Built for Bennington!

LD50 - I see the PowerWedge comes either powered or passive - so there are options! I assume you would install this with some type of spacer to keep the carpeted cover off the floor, and install it under the Helm. Thoughts on the lack of "element ready" connectors / internal build?

New Accessory: Rockford Fosgate 10" Subwoofer & Amp with Custom Enclosure - Built for Bennington!

Thank you LD50! Have you looked at / considered the JL Stowaway, a marine grade sub? Seems this could a great unit for under the swingback front compartment. BUT, can't find a single pontoon user.

New Accessory: Rockford Fosgate 10" Subwoofer & Amp with Custom Enclosure - Built for Bennington!

Just found this on the Accessory Page! 10" sub, 400W amp, custom enclosure - made for Bennignton!! Sized for under-seat installation (though specs and instructions give two different heights - 10" vs 9"). A very interesting option! I still understand placing a bass inside the molded thick...

    M Series with Vessel Control

Idea - leave it loose and simply put in on the deck when using, running it like an extension cord that pulls out from under the nearest seat!?

    Covers

The custom fit of the Factory Top has really kept my Benny from the elements, we store ours outside in the summer, through monsoons and winds. Depending on the model year, you might be able to submit your hull number and get a new one made. A good local canvas shop, as noted, is probably your...

    M Series with Vessel Control

I would be concerned, water most surely hits that area when turning sharp or when there is large chop. Why not on the similar space to the Right, behind the log.

    Best Anchor

The Original Slide Anchor Box works MUCH better than imitations - the small savings just not worth it! I store mine in collapsed mode, using a canvas wood tote. I have both the Regular and Baby, and often need both when windy.

Stereo Upgrade - Amp & Sub: SubWoofer Design & Installation

I am still learning here - this is my current knowledge base: I understand the 5 channel has the amp power for a non-powered subwoofer, so the extra amp is not required (pending power needs). The further advantage is that these smart amps can help tune / balance the speakers and amp. Vs...

    Fuel Line Issue??

Ok - so your volt meter says the batteries are 12.2v, ideally 12.5 or higher. All other electronics working I assume. You have checked the battery compartment for loose wires or connections, including the fuse block. Also look for in-line fuses in the battery compartment and test that they are...

    Shark Hide

Correct, Metal Jacket is a like product to Shark Hide. As Jack noted, it claims to not wear off so fast when the toon is left in the water. They have multiple versions of the product that I am still not clear on. I have yet to find a multi-year report. I felt Shark Hide provided solid...

25' QX Owners with Single Engine and ESP:

I understand that when storing gas in vehicles, best to fill the tank to minimize oxidation and temperature swings that can cause sweating. And, always put in a stabilizer. For a decade I did this with my quads, missed it one year, and had to clean out the entire fuel system.

    Battery Hold Down

My Benny just has battery trays, no cover. I believe these are installed by the dealer, not Bennington - but not sure. I recently moved to 2 LifePo, and needed larger trays. Found these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001IVK2E4?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1&psc=1 The screw...
