Bus Electrical Bars

Hello,
I would like to move my battery switch, from under the swingback seat, so that it is accessible through the aluminum fence wall and not have to open the seat cushion or take off the boat cover.

I have Ultra legs, power Bimini with dual batteries, and the outside location would be much more convenient. I have seen the same switch mounted this way on other pontoons.

Does anybody have any experience with this? I was thinking of using electrical bus bars to make the process easier and cleaner. It would also make the process of removing the batteries much easier.

Bus Bars support clean installation, but use quality, high-rated, 100% Copper, Tinned. If the one you are selecting seems like a deal, it is not. The one issue this creates is extra wire length; the battery main segment should technically be protected by its own fuse. If you are including the Main Engine power and Power Steering and a big Amp and sea Leg - that would have to be - you will need a hefty piece of wire - with a potential of 190 amps - a 1/0 AWG wire would be right selection (again, copper, tinned, with high pressure crimped ends, also 100% copper tinned). Under 10 feet, that suports 285 amps, so you need a 200amp or better a 250amp marine rated fuse. I have been pondering the same, but instead better utilizing the Hub Fuse my boat came with - it only has 3 circuits going through it, almost everything is wired directly.

Great feedback. Might be beyond my expertise. I like the nice clean look and was hoping it would allow me to move my battery switch to outside. Might have to live with it as-is.
