Also, I don’t buy them at a big box store. I go to the interstate store. Ask them about a discount and they will give you 10 to 15% off. It will be right in line with the big box stores price.
I am interstate all the way! I got seven years out of my bass boats cranking and trolling motor batteries. Even though they still showed good I swapped them out this year. I use interstate in the Bennington as well.
I’m with Viking! Mine is on a lift and covered as well. I am guessing 80-90% of boats in the marina are on a lift. The marina does rent them, but I just bought a good used one and had it installed. I figured it would pay off rather than renting. When I sell or move the boat I will sell the...
I agree with the comments to shy away from the Evinrude. I was a huge Johnson, Evinrude fan back in the 70’s-80’s. Spring of 2020 was the end of that era. I think the Evinrude might hurt you on resale down the road. Just my opinion. Good luck on whichever way you go.

This goes back probably 40 years ago. I had a 15 1/2 foot Glastron with a 50hp Johnson. A friend and I was running a bluff in the river channel about dusk at fort Gibson lake here in Oklahoma. Moving on at a pretty good clip off of our port side was a hand sticking up out of the water. I pull...
Hard to keep in mind, but we pay it because we LOVE the water along with our Benningtons that give us the joy and the memories. The laughter of my 9 grandkids is worth every nickel.
I hardly ever use the water, but it is nice when you want to rinse off the boat, and the only electric I use is to plug in the lift and vac out the boat.
