Id say to check you're battery. I know my buddies center console was doing all sorts of strange things when his batteries were starting to die and not take a charge.

I drilled and tapped the rivet holes. That way if I ever have to pull the panel again it’s a lot easier

When I took off the front panel on my under skin for my train horn Install. A few of the rivets were not even doing anything. I ended up drilling and tapping the holes for stainless bolts with anti seize on them. Probably the route I will also go on my ladder install when it gets here next week

Mounted to the front I would not go beyond 5-10 mph. It would act like a big sail. I climbed inside my boat this evening and measured it out. Should work out. Just have to add another set of the deck plates to the order.

Why? My buddy has owned a powdercoat shop for 20 years. Done everything from magnesium to plastics. Any material properly prepped will be fine. Never had an issue with any coatings failing.
